Donor Bill of Rights

PBS North Carolina Donor Bill of Rights

As a not-for-profit organization, PBS North Carolina values the trust our audience places in us, and the support our donors provide us. We are committed to providing a range of charitable giving options that meet the needs and abilities of our donors and prospective donors. To ensure that we continue to merit the good faith and respect of our supporters, here is the PBS North Carolina Donor Bill of Rights:

I. To be informed of PBS North Carolina's mission, of the way PBS North Carolina intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
II. To be informed of the identity of those serving on PBS North Carolina's Board of Trustees and to expect the board to be a vital link to the public.
III. To have access to PBS North Carolina's most recent financial statements.
IV. To be assured that each gift will be used for the purpose for which it was given.
V. To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
VI. To be assured that information about each donation is handled with respect and with maximum confidentiality to the extent permitted by the law.
VII. To expect that all relationships with individuals representing organizations of interest to the donor will be professional in nature.
VIII. To expect that PBS North Carolina will never sell or exchange its donor list with another organization.
IX. To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful, and forthright answers.

The E-Donor Bill of Rights serves as a complement to the Donor Bill of Rights by addressing the online aspects of charitable giving.
